Since 2000, I have worked professionally designing, developing and supporting the delivery of digital learning in vocational and higher educational settings.
Making my start as a multimedia developer in vocational education before progressing to an instructional designer role, I worked within a high performing team to produce award-winning digital learning resources for the Australian Flexible Learning Framework, The Defence Force School of Signals (DFSS), VET Development Centre, and more.
In 2014, I transitioned to an educational designer role in higher education. Since then I’ve led the design of fully online postgraduate courses and professional development delivered by the university as well as non-award courses and microcredentials with digital education partner FutureLearn.
More recently, a portfolio-driven initiative to rapidly enhance a number of undergraduate award courses has brought about a rapid change of focus and increase of team size – this has enabled me to further hone and incorporate my formal supervisory and leadership skills in my professional practice.
Outside of work, I enjoy tinkering with technology, and broadly exploring how we learn and how we design and develop digital stuff that helps us learn – I capture these explorations on my personal blog.
